Wherever you buy a car battery, you may now also turn in your old car battery at the time of the purchase. If you are not purchasing a car battery but have old car batteries you would like to dispose of, please take it to one of the following businesses for recycling. Be sure to call ahead and verify business hours, location, and specifics about their battery recycling service. Household
Household batteries can be comprised of heavy metals and other elements including nickel, cadmium, mercury, lithium, silver and zinc. Utilize one of the many battery drop-off sites maintained by the Kent County Department of Public Works. These sites accept all types of household batteries (NO lead acid automotive batteries). Battery collection containers are inside the locations. All batteries will be recycled or properly disposed of.
