Moving Boxes
Moving boxes are usually in good enough shape to use again by you or someone
else. The following resources are available for your slightly used moving boxes, or
as a source for slightly used moving boxes.
U-Haul Take a Box/Leave a Box and U-Haul Box Exchange Program
A Take a Box/Leave a Box display is available at U-Haul facilities throughout North
America. The program enables customers to return their reusable boxes and allow
other customers to take them as needed – FREE.
The Box Exchange Program allows U-Haul customers to log on to www.uhaul.com/boxexchange
to post their available boxes, for free or for a fee, or to
review messages from individuals in their area who are offering reusable boxes.
Also try the Freecycle Network. The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,234 groups
with 4,449,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit
movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's
all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated
by a local volunteer. Membership is free.
If your cardboard boxes are not re-useable, they can be recycled at one of the
Kent County recycling centers.
